Rueda de Casino is a high-energy Cuban Salsa format where couples dance in a circle, follow calls from a leader, and switch partners through synchronized patterns. It is social, fast-moving, playful, and a fun way to sharpen your timing and reactions.
Audition-based Salsa teams train seasonal choreography, technique, confidence, and stage presence. Team seasons typically begin in the Fall and Spring.
Rueda de Casino is one of the most exciting ways to experience Salsa as a group. Instead of dancing with one partner for the whole song, couples form a circle and move through patterns that are called out in real time.
It combines Cuban Salsa movement, partnerwork, quick reactions, listening skills, rhythm, and a lot of group energy. The result feels part dance class, part team activity, and part social dance game.
Rueda helps dancers connect with more people in class because partner changes are part of the format. It is a great way to build community and confidence.
Because calls happen in real time, dancers learn to listen, react, stay on time, and keep their movement clear while the pattern changes.
Rueda is lively, playful, and highly addictive. It gives intermediate Salsa dancers a new challenge beyond traditional linear partnerwork.
Recommended level: Salsa Level 2 or higher. Dancers should already be comfortable with basic steps, right turns, and cross-body leads before joining Rueda de Casino.
