Bachata is a Dominican music-and-dance tradition shaped by community gatherings, social dancing, musical phrasing, and partner connection. UNESCO recognizes music and dance of Dominican Bachata as part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Traditional bachata is closely tied to guitar-led music, percussion, phrasing, and the feeling of the song. In this workshop, the goal is to help your body respond more naturally to the music.
Traditional bachata training helps dancers become more grounded, rhythmically clear, and comfortable with partner connection. You will work on tools that translate directly to the social dance floor.

This workshop is Level 2+ intermediate. If you are brand new, you will likely get more value starting with Level 1 bachata classes first. You can check beginner options on our schedule.
No partner is needed. We rotate respectfully so dancers can improve connection, adaptability, and confidence.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and shoes that allow easy pivots without sticking. Water is always a good idea.
