The Mambo Experience by Empire Mambo NYC
DF Dance Studio is bringing a true New York mambo training experience to Salt Lake City. Join us for a special day with Empire Mambo from NYC as two couples from their Pro Team come to perform and teach a focused 4-hour Mambo intensive built around partnerwork, shines, and stronger Salsa On2 fundamentals.
This event is also the soft grand opening of the new DF Academy learning path, with the Salsa track launching the week of May 4th, 2026.

Want to review, brush up, or learn the basics before the intensive? The 11:00am Salsa On2 community class is free and taught by a DF Dance Studio teacher. Keep the enrollment widget here so anyone can reserve a spot easily.
This free class is open to the community. It is a separate enrollment from the paid Empire Mambo passes above.

FREE Community Salsa On2 Class
Taught by a DF Dance Studio teacher, this class is absolutely free and open to anyone who wants to learn the foundations of Salsa On2, review, or refresh before the workshop.
Mambo 1 & 2 • Partnerwork & Shines
Focused training in partnerwork and shines with Empire Mambo’s visiting Pro Team couples. Dancers can join with the Level 1 & 2 Pass or the Full Pass.

Reset, refuel, and get ready for the next training block.
Mambo 3 & 4 • Partnerwork & Shines
Continue into the higher-level material with more partnerwork and shines. Dancers can join with the Level 3 & 4 Pass or the Full Pass.
Experience level: previous Salsa experience is required for the paid intensive. At least 2+ years is recommended.

Empire Mambo is known for elegant New York styling, sharp musicality, and structured mambo training. Under the direction of Adolfo Indacochea, Empire has developed a strong reputation for building dancers through foundations, clean mechanics, and real correction instead of random combinations.

The Mambo Experience is not only a training day — it is also an entry point into the new DF Academy Salsa track launching in May 2026.
Whether you register for the Full Pass, Level 1 & 2 Pass, or Level 3 & 4 Pass, you will receive placement and assessment by the Empire Mambo team into the appropriate DF Academy Mambo / Salsa On2 level.
That means students will not only learn from top mambo professionals on 04/25 — they will also walk away with a clearer next step for their long-term On2 training at DF.

Is this workshop beginner-friendly?
The free community Salsa On2 class is beginner-friendly and open to anyone. The paid intensive is not a beginner workshop — prior Salsa experience is required, and 2+ years is recommended.
Can I come just for the free class?
Yes. The 11:00am–12:00pm free community Salsa On2 class is open to anyone who wants foundations or a refresher before the intensive. Use the free class widget to reserve your spot.
Do all paid passes include DF Academy placement?
Yes. The Full Pass, Level 1 & 2 Pass, and Level 3 & 4 Pass all include placement and assessment by the Empire Mambo team into the upcoming DF Academy Salsa On2 track.
Which pass should I choose?
Choose the Full Pass if you want the full 4-hour experience. Choose the Level 1 & 2 Pass for the earlier section or the Level 3 & 4 Pass for the later section.
