Beginner Group Classes
Perfect for couples who want a fun, affordable way to learn together and keep coming back.

Looking for a more memorable night out than dinner and a movie? DF Dance Studio makes it easy to turn a night together into something active, playful, and genuinely connecting. Whether you want a one-time dance date, a private lesson, a beginner group class, or a Friday social to keep the night going, we’ll help you find the right fit.
Couples come to DF for anniversaries, first dates, weekly date nights, wedding prep, and “let’s finally do something different” energy. You do not need dance experience, fancy shoes, or perfect rhythm. You just need a willingness to laugh, move, and try something new together.
Perfect for couples who want a fun, affordable way to learn together and keep coming back.
One-on-one coaching for just the two of you. Great for anniversaries, surprises, and custom goals.
Take a beginner lesson, then stay and dance. A great choice if you want your date night to feel lively and social.
Perfect for double dates, birthdays, reunions, girls’ night, or a private group experience built around your vibe.
If you want a date night that can turn into a shared hobby, beginner group classes are the easiest way to start. New students begin with an Intro class or a 3-hour Bootcamp, then move into Level 1 in Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, or Country Swing.
Learn timing, basic steps, and partner connection in a beginner-friendly first class.
Want faster progress? A focused 3-hour bootcamp helps many couples feel more comfortable quickly.
This is where confidence builds with repetition, coaching, and a clear beginner progression.
Turn one fun evening into a weekly date night you both actually look forward to.
Great styles for couples include Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, and Country Swing. Many beginners try two styles and keep the one they love most.
Prefer to read the beginner path first? Visit New Student Info.
Private lessons are ideal when you want something more intimate, more flexible, or more tailored to the two of you. A private lesson can be used for one or two dancers, lasts 50 minutes, and is a great option for anniversaries, surprises, wedding prep, or simply learning at your own pace.
Want the full private lesson pricing breakdown? See Private Lesson Pricing.
Planning a birthday, reunion, double date, girls’ night, or small group event? DF also offers private dance parties with a custom 50-minute lesson. Your group does not need dance experience, and you can request a favorite song or choose from styles like Hip Hop, Heels, Salsa, Bachata, Swing, Ballroom, or a Line Dance.
No. Most couples who come in for a date night are beginners. DF’s intro classes, private lessons, and beginner-friendly socials are designed to help first-timers feel comfortable quickly.
You can ask the front desk or instructor about class format, but many couples choose beginner options specifically because they are approachable and social for first-timers.
Private lessons are usually the most personal option for anniversaries and surprises because they give you one-on-one time with an instructor and a custom pace.
Havana on State and WestieHive are both strong options. You get a class first, then you can stay and dance afterward.
Yes. Private parties are available for groups, and they are a popular option for birthdays, reunions, girls’ night, and double-date style celebrations.
Whether you want one private lesson, a beginner class to start together, or a Friday social that gets you out of your routine, DF Dance Studio gives couples an easy, fun way to connect through movement.

DF Dance Academy is for students who want a more school-style learning experience at DF Dance Studio. In this program, students commit to a progressive training path that builds over time rather than a drop-in format. Academy is designed for those who are ready for more focused structure, regular attendance, and a stronger sense of accountability.
The first Academy track launches the week of May 4th, 2026 with Salsa / Mambo training. DF Dance Academy supports serious students with small-group instruction, weekly progression, ongoing instructor connection, and tools that help students stay engaged even when life gets busy.
DF Dance Academy is designed to make serious training easier to follow, more connected, and more effective from week to week.
If a student cannot attend in person, the Zoom option helps them stay connected to class and continue following the program.
Classes are intentionally kept small for better feedback, stronger learning, and more instructor attention. Maximum size is 7 couples.
Students enroll into a progressive path over time, allowing classes to build on each other instead of functioning like one-off drop-ins.
Students receive extra support each month through a dedicated Q&A and practice lab with the instructor.
Stay connected between classes with a student WhatsApp group where recap videos can be shared for review and practice.
Academy students receive discounts on private lessons, making personalized coaching more accessible.
DF Dance Academy is offered in 4-week enrollment cycles so students can build consistency, stay accountable, and make steady progress in a structured program.
4 weeks of training at 1 class per week. A great fit for students who want structure and consistency with a lighter weekly commitment.
4 weeks of training at 2 classes per week. Ideal for students who want faster progress and more time in the material each week.
