Program Path
How the West Coast Swing program works
Step A
Start: Intro Class or Beginner Bootcamp
Begin with an Intro to WCS class or a Beginner Bootcamp to learn timing, connection, and essentials—no partner needed.
Step B
WCS Level 1 → add Level 2 (with approval)
- Take 8 Level 1 classes, then (with teacher approval) you may take Level 1 + Level 2 simultaneously.
- 16 Level 1 classes required to move completely to Level 2—continuing L1 is strongly recommended.
Step C
Level 2 → 2.5 (Skills & Drills)
- 10 Level 2 classes required before starting Level 2.5 (with teacher approval).
- 20 Level 2 classes minimum to complete Level 2; most students take L2 + 2.5 together for 6+ months.
- Level 2.5 sharpens technique, drills & control—applies up to advanced.
Step D
WCS 3 (Novice/Intermediate competitors)
Teacher approval required. Designed for dancers competing in WSDC Novice & Intermediate.
- Teacher's approval required to join regardless of previous experience.
- Ongoing class with monthly concepts

WestieHive WCS Socials
Classes before the social + social dancing till midnight.
- Typical night: L1 & L2 classes at 8:00 PM
- Social dancing: 9:00 PM – 12:00 AM
